Akelius Education

Akelius Education develops high-quality learning programs in languages and mathematics.

The programs are freely available online for everyone.

Akelius Languages

Akelius Languages began in 2015 to support refugees during the European migrant crisis by helping them quickly learn the language of their new country. 

Since then, it has grown into a free digital language platform offering courses in eleven languages. 
These include Arabic, English, French, German, Greek, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Swedish, and Polish. 

Lessons teach language in real-life, culturally relevant contexts, with AI-powered support for practicing conversations.

Akelius offers print products to complement the digital course. 

UNICEF, UNHCR, SOS Children’s Villages, and other non-governmental organizations worldwide use Akelius course to provide children and adults with language education.

More than 120,000 students benefit from the educational programs every year. 

Akelius Math

Akelius Math started in 2023 to increase access to mathematics education.

Akelius Math, in collaboration with Chalmers University of Technology and University of Gothenburg, has established the Akelius Math Learning Lab. 
Within this collaboration, teachers and scientists ongoingly develop educational material for learning mathematics. 

The educational material is primarily intended for use in schools that lack resources and in refugee camps. 

The digital material will also be freely available for anyone to use, both for self-study and in classrooms. 

Both programs reflect a commitment to inclusive, innovative education that supports learners worldwide.
